Muscat: Oman Air on Sunday issued a warning prohibiting its passengers from using or charging the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 devices onboard its flights.
The decision to prohibit the use of the Samsung Galaxy Note7 mobile devices was taken in the wake of its recall due to safety concerns over the battery issue, Oman Air said in a travel advisory, issued today.
"In light of the recent recall of Samsung Galaxy Note 7 devices due to safety issues, Oman Air advises passengers that the usage and charging of the device are prohibited onboard all Oman Air flight beginning today, September 11, 2016 until further notice," said Oman Air in a statement.
"Galaxy Note 7 devices must also not be stowed in checked baggage, but may be hand-carried as long as the device is turned off at all times inside the aircraft," added Oman Air.
