Muscat: Occidental Oman has signed a sponsorship agreement with the Oman Cancer Association (OCA), under which the company will take care of the lease cost of Dar Al Hanan for the fourth consecutive year.
Dar Al Hanan, a home away from home for those battling cancer, accommodates a maximum of 16 beds for patients and their families and employs a team of medically qualified nurses as well as a group of experts in patient care who provide services to patients throughout the day.
The agreement was signed by Stephen A. Kelly, Occidental’s President and General Manager and Dr. Wahid Al Kharusi, President of the OCA.
Continued support
“This sponsorship is to express our continued support to the Oman Cancer Association, especially Dar Al Hanan, to support children suffering from cancer at such young ages and from all over the Sultanate,” Kelly said.
Raise more awareness
He also added that the company has been supporting Dar Al Hanan since 2016. He expressed the hope that this support will help raise more awareness of cancer to the public.
Kelly added that this agreement comes under the umbrella of strategic partnerships and continued cooperation with key stakeholders and is part of Occidental Oman’s long-standing commitment to support programmes that promote economic growth and sustainable development that will benefit and positively impact society.
