
Muscat: The military Hajj mission today left the Sultanate of Oman on its way to the holy places to perform the Hajj (pilgrimage) for the year 1447 AH.
The mission left on board a number of transport aircraft of the Royal Air Force of Oman (RAFO). It was seen off at Seeb Air Base by Salim bin Musallam Qatan, Deputy Chairman of the State Council, and senior officers from the Sultan’s Armed Forces (SAF) and other military and security units.
The mission was operated in response to the Royal orders of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik, the Supreme Commander. It comprises active employees and retired personnel of the Ministry of Defence, the SAF and other military and security departments.
The mission is run by the Morale Guidance and Military Protocols Department at the SAF General Command, which oversees the operation of military Hajj missions.
