Oman participates in IMEX Frankfurt 2026 exhibition

Frankfurt: The Sultanate of Oman began its participation on Tuesday in the "IMEX Frankfurt 2026" exhibition, one of the most prominent global events specialised in the incentive travel, meetings, and conferences sector, which is being held in the German city of Frankfurt from 19-21 May.

Through this participation, the Sultanate of Oman aims to promote its diverse tourism assets and enhance its position as a leading destination in the meetings, incentives, conferences, and exhibitions (MICE) tourism sector. This participation also comes within the strategy of the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism to attract business tourism and international events, and to boost the tourism sector's contribution to the Gross Domestic Product (GDP), as the meetings, incentives, and conferences market constitutes one of the most important pillars supporting this direction.

The Sultanate of Oman's pavilion at the exhibition includes 11 tourism companies, institutions, and hotel establishments representing the Omani tourism sector, including tourism service operators, event and conference organising companies, and Oman Convention and Exhibition Centre.

Khalid Walid Al Zedjali, Director of Oman Convention Office, stated that the participation of the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism in "IMEX Frankfurt 2026" represents an important opportunity to network with leading international business tourism and event organizers, and to showcase Oman’s advanced capabilities in hosting international conferences, exhibitions, and meetings.

He explained that during this participation, the focus will be on meeting some of the most prominent organisers and professionals in business tourism from target markets, opening new horizons to attract qualitative events that enhance Oman's regional and international standing.

He noted that the exhibition serves as a platform bringing together experts and stakeholders from the conferences, exhibitions, and related events sector, facilitating meetings with entities specialised in organising meetings and incentives tourism from various target markets, where the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism has successfully attracted several international and global events, conferences, and meetings.

He added that the Ministry’s participation in the exhibition also aims to shed light on the tourism capabilities for which Oman is renowned, highlighting it as an ideal destination for hosting events, exhibitions, and conferences, and as a new tourism hub featuring world-class services and facilities capable of attracting the largest international events of all kinds.

He emphasised that this participation aligns with the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism's commitment to promoting conferences and incentives tourism in connection with Oman Tourism Strategy 2040.
