
Muscat : The number of registered government and private museums in the Sultanate of Oman reached 34 by the end of 2025, an increase of three museums compared to 2024, when there were 31.
Data issued by the National Centre for Statistics and Information indicated that the total number of museum visitors last year reached 538,000, marking a 28.6 percent decrease compared to 2024, which attracted 753,000 visitors. The statistics showed that the number of visitors was distributed as follows: 445,997 to government museums and 92,732 to private museums.
On a monthly basis, February 2025 saw the highest number of museum visitors, with 73,152, while March had the lowest, with only 19,470 visitors.
