Response for dengue fever discussed in South Al Batinah

A’Rustaq: The local committee for the enhancement and response to Dengue Fever at the Office of the Governor of South Al Batinah discussed today the latest updates on the health situation and measures to strengthen prevention and response in the governorate. The meeting was chaired by Eng. Masoud Said Al Hashimi, Governor of South Al Batinah.

During the meeting, the committee reviewed the epidemiological status of Dengue Fever and discussed ongoing efforts to curb the spread of the disease, particularly in light of climate changes that may contribute to increased breeding opportunities for the vector mosquitoes.

Al Hashimi emphasized the importance of concerted efforts between various government and community entities, alongside the enhancement of health awareness among citizens and residents. He stressed the necessity of intensifying spraying campaigns and monitoring stagnant water sites, as they provide a suitable environment for mosquito breeding.

The attendees also discussed several proposals and preventive measures, including the intensification of awareness campaigns, the activation of field teams, and the enhancement of coordination between relevant authorities to ensure a rapid response to any detected cases.

This meeting reaffirms South Al Batinah Governorate’s commitment to enhancing health readiness and taking proactive measures to limit the spread of diseases and safeguard the health and safety of the community.
