Foreign Minister welcomes Pope Leo XIV’s remarks on the Middle East

Muscat: Oman’s Foreign Minister Sayyid Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi has welcomed comments made by His Holiness Pope Leo XIV in which the Pope says he is following what is happening in the Middle East and Iran with great concern.

Writing on the X social media platform the Pope writes: “Stability and peace are not achieved through mutual threats, nor through the use of weapons, which sow destruction, suffering, and death, but only through reasonable, sincere, and responsible dialogue.”

Commenting on the Pope’s remarks, Sayyid Badr says: “His Holiness speaks for everyone, be they Muslim, Jew or Christian. He speaks for humanity, he calls for peace and he urges dialogue. Whatever our faith, let’s listen.”
