Assarain record victory as Oman Cricket new season kicks off in style

Muscat: Assarain recorded a 35-run victory over Al Turki NMC in the inaugural match of Oman Cricket Premier League as the 2016-17 season kicked off in style on Friday.
Batting first, Assarain scored 234 for the loss of nine wickets in their quota of 50 overs thanks mainly to 98-run knock by swashbuckling opener Zeeshan Maqsood. Sindo Michael contributed 37 valuable runs.
For Al Turki NMC, Rahul Singh claimed four wickets for 64 runs while Jay Oddedara took three for 30 runs.
In reply, Al Turki were restricted to 199 for nine in 50 overs. Twinkal Bhandari scored 48 runs while Yogesh Patel contributed 46.
Kaleemullah was the pick of Assarain bowlers with three for 30 while Zeeshan Maqsood bagged two wickets for 36 runs.
