
Muscat: The Settlement and Reconciliation Committees in the Sultanate of Oman managed to settle 9,625 reconciliation requests, achieving a success rate of 87 percent of total requests during 2025. This indicator reflects the effectiveness of amicable solutions and their role in resolving various types of disputes, while enhancing family and social stability.
During the same year, the Settlement and Reconciliation Committees held 2,636 sessions. The total number of requests received reached 23,292, which included 12,864 civil requests, 6,010 Sharia requests, and 4,418 commercial requests.
Meanwhile, the requests in which no reconciliation was reached totalled 1,411, representing 13 percent, due to the parties' failure to reach an agreement.
Regarding the rates of completed settlements, the Muscat Governorate led the governorates in terms of settling reconciliation requests with 1,476 cases, followed by the Al Dakhiliyah Governorate with 1,325 cases, and the North Al Batinah Governorate with 1,288 reconciliation cases.
At the level of the number of sessions, the Al Dakhiliyah Governorate topped the ranking with 447 sessions, followed by the South Al Sharqiyah Governorate with 411 sessions, and the North Al Sharqiyah Governorate with 375 sessions.
The Settlement and Reconciliation Committees in the Wilayat of A’Seeb recorded the highest number of incoming requests at 2,136, followed by the Wilayat of Barka with 1,789 requests, and the Wilayat of Saham with 1,398 requests.
As part of efforts to enhance the reach of settlement and reconciliation services, the number of committees increased to 58, distributed across various wilayats in the governorates of the Sultanate of Oman. This expansion has contributed to broadening the scope of reconciliation services, bringing them closer to beneficiaries and accelerating settlement procedures.
The Ministry of Interior continues to develop the settlement and reconciliation system by promoting digital solutions, most notably the "Taswiya" system.
This system allows for the electronic submission of reconciliation requests, contributing to the acceleration of procedures and improving performance efficiency, thereby enhancing the quality of services provided and supporting digital transformation trends in the Sultanate of Oman.
