Muscat: Yalla Shabab Giants emerged champions of the Oman D20 Super League Final on Friday, defeating the Oman Development Team by 4 wickets in an exciting contest that lived up to its billing.

The final marked the culmination of the Oman D20 Super League, which featured the top four teams from the Oman D20 League, along with a combined squad drawn from the 5th and 6th placed teams, managed and fielded by Oman Cricket as the Oman Development Team.

Batting first, the Oman Development Team posted a competitive 162 for 4 in 20 overs. Captain Jatinder Singh anchored the innings with a composed and unbeaten 54 off 50 balls, providing stability at the top. He was well supported by Ashish Odedra, who struck a fluent 44 off 29 balls, while Muhammad Nadeem (26 off 22) and Jiten Ramanandi (30 off 17) added valuable runs in the middle and death overs. For Yalla Shabab Giants, Shakeel Ahmed was the standout bowler, returning figures of 2/23 from 4 overs.

In reply, Yalla Shabab Giants chased down the target with composure, reaching 163/6 in 19.3 overs. The chase was built on collective batting contributions, with Muhammad Sami (39 off 29) and Leo Fransisco (39 off 27) playing crucial roles in maintaining momentum. Earlier, Zohaib Amanat (29 off 22) provided a brisk start and Anfal PA (30 off 17) setting the platform for the successful run chase. For the Oman Development Team, Samay Shrivastava (2/31) and Yashas GL (2/33) were the pick of the bowlers.
