Nizwa: The Royal Oman Police (ROP) celebrated its annual Day today, observed on 5 January every year. The ceremony was held under the auspices of Sheikh Abdulmalik Abdullah Al Khalili, Chairman of the State Council.

The celebration, held at the military parade ground of the Sultan Qaboos Academy for Police Sciences in the Wilayat of Nizwa, featured the graduation of the 58th batch of specialized officer cadets, the 57th batch of university officer cadets, the 12th batch of service-system officer cadets, and the officer skills qualification and development course. The graduates included officers from the Internal Security Service, the Royal Court Affairs, and the State Financial and Administrative Audit Authority.

The graduates represented diverse specializations, including aviation engineering, maritime navigation, geophysics, logistics, geographic information systems, biotechnology, supply chain management, fire engineering, chemical engineering, cybersecurity, criminology and criminal justice, and the Diploma of the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music (ABRSM) in command and control.

The ceremony commenced with a military salute to the chief guest, followed by the parade commander requesting the Chief Guest to inspect the front row of the parade. The graduates then performed a military march past the main dais, after which the chief guest presented awards to the top performing graduates.

This was followed by the formal ceremony of handing over and receiving the banner of the Sultan Qaboos Academy for Police Sciences, transitioning from the 57th batch of university officer cadets to the 48th batch of bachelor’s system officer cadets.

The graduates then performed the ROP anthem "Humaat Al Haqq", took the oath of allegiance, and chanted "Long Live" thrice for His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik, the Supreme Commander, before offering a final salute to the chief guest, signaling the end of the parade.

The event also featured a mounted parade by the ROP Cavalry and various musical performances by the Royal Oman Police Band.
