Muscat: The Civil Aviation Authority of Oman has issued a weather forecast warning of unstable weathers conditions across the Sultanate of Oman from December 28 to 30, 2025, due to the influence of a low-pressure system.

According to the National Multi-Hazard Early Warning Centre, the system is expected to bring scattered rainfall of varying intensity, with occasional thunderstorms, particularly between December 29 and 30.

Forecast Highlights

Sunday, December 28: Cloud formation is expected over Musandam Governorate, with a chance of scattered showers, some possibly accompanied by thunder. Rainfall amounts may range between 5 to 10 mm.

Monday, December 29: Rainfall is forecast to continue in Musandam, with potential for heavy showers leading to runoff in valleys and streams. Northern governorates and the Arabian Sea coast may also see cloud cover and scattered rain.

Tuesday, December 30: The unsettled weather will persist, with continued cloud formation and rain over northern regions and coastal areas. Strong northwesterly winds are expected, possibly causing dust storms and a noticeable drop in temperatures.

Authorities have advised travellers to stay updated on weather developments and exercise caution, especially in areas prone to flooding and reduced visibility due to dust.
