Regional workshop held on aligning National Air Navigation Plan with international standards
Muscat: A specialized workshop on the Global Air Navigation Plan (National Plan) commenced in Muscat today. The 4-day event is organized by the Civil Aviation Authority in cooperation with the Regional Office of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) for the Middle East region.
The workshop aims to support the Sultanate of Oman's efforts in developing and updating the National Air Navigation Plan in alignment with relevant global and regional plans, and to enhance the harmonization of air navigation services with best practices and approved international standards.
Participants in the workshop include a number of specialists and experts from the Middle East region in the aviation sector, along with representatives from air navigation service providers, airport operators, national airlines, and relevant government entities. This participation contributes to the exchange of expertise and the enhancement of institutional integration in this vital field.
The workshop features discussion sessions and specialized technical presentations addressing the strategic framework for air navigation, the role of the national plan in improving operational efficiency, ensuring aviation safety and security, promoting environmental sustainability, and increasing airspace capacity. This aligns with the requirements of growth in global air traffic.
The Civil Aviation Authority confirmed that organizing this workshop is part of its ongoing efforts to develop the air navigation system in the Sultanate of Oman and support strategic planning for the civil aviation sector. This contributes to achieving sustainable development goals and strengthening the Sultanate of Oman's position as a reliable regional hub for aviation and air navigation services.
