Muscat: The activities of the Sanad Service Centers Lab began on Sunday. The lab is organised by the Ministry of Commerce, Industry, and Investment Promotion in cooperation with the Oman Vision 2040 Implementation Follow-up Unit and will continue until 25 December.
This step aims to prepare a comprehensive developmental roadmap for the Sanad Centres by designing practical initiatives that contribute to improving service quality, enhancing the beneficiary experience, and promoting the sustainability of the centers as a pivotal partner in providing government and community services.
The launch of the lab comes in light of the significant expansion witnessed by the Sanad Centres over the past years, with their number exceeding 920 centres. These centres have contributed to providing more than 2,350 job opportunities for Omani youth, necessitating the development of their operating model, improving their service quality, and ensuring their financial and operational sustainability.
The Ministry affirmed that the lab represents a pivotal station in the journey of the Sanad Centres, more than 20 years after their establishment. It embodies the Ministry's commitment to adopting innovative and sustainable business models that enhance employment opportunities, upgrade service levels, and support national digital transformation, thereby positively impacting the community and the national economy.
The lab also aims to standardise procedures and service delivery standards, fully link Sanad Centres with the unified government portal, and develop a classification and star rating system. Additionally, it aims to raise the efficiency and qualification of human resources and launch wage-support programs and performance-linked incentives, thereby contributing to improving the beneficiary experience and creating an attractive and stable work environment.
It is worth mentioning that the Sanad Service Centres have witnessed increasing demand for transaction completion, with the number of completed electronic services and transactions exceeding 813,000 during the period from January to October 2025. More than 523,000 services were executed through the Sanad Centers electronic portal, in addition to over 290,000 services completed through the centers' on the "Oman Business" platform.
