Muscat: The Oman Summit for Diabetes & Endocrine Across the Lifespan 2025 began on Thursday in Muscat Governorate.

The opening ceremony was held under the auspices of HH Sayyida Dr. Mona Fahad Al Said, Assistant Vice-Chancellor for External Cooperation at Sultan Qaboos University.

The event is witnessing the participation of a number of specialists in diabetology, obesity, and endocrinology, hosting 22 international speakers from within and outside the Sultanate of Oman who will present a set of scientific papers and specialized lectures over two days.

Sayyida Dr. Noor Badr Al Busaidi, Chairperson of the Board of Directors of the Oman Diabetes Association, said that the convening of this conference represents a pivotal scientific platform that contributes to raising the quality of care for patients with diabetes, obesity, and endocrine disorders in the Sultanate of Oman.

She added that the organisation of this event is the fruit of close cooperation between the Oman Diabetes Association, the Ministry of Health, and the National Center for Diabetes and Endocrinology. She noted that it embodies a practical model for the integration of roles between civil society institutions and the governmental health sector.

She explained that the event aims to enhance national capacities, encourage inter-sectoral cooperation, and raise the level of care through this scientific forum that brings together physicians, researchers, policymakers, and health sector officials.

She added that the event program includes scientific papers that address topics including diabetes technologies, endocrine disorders in children and adults, obesity medicine, metabolic bone health, thyroid diseases, and pituitary and adrenal disorders, along with the latest developments in precision medicine.

The program also includes four practical workshops covering essential skills such as diabetic foot care, continuous glucose monitoring devices, carbohydrate counting, and insulin pump therapy, aiming to enhance the practical skills of participants in line with the best global practices.

It is worth mentioning that the event is held across two parallel scientific tracks covering adult medicine and pediatrics, with the aim of reviewing the latest clinical practices and scientific research on the diagnosis and treatment of diabetes and endocrine disorders across different age groups.
