Rain expected in northern parts of Oman

Muscat: Cumulus clouds formations are likely to cause isolated rain accompanied with thundershowers over northern parts of Oman starting from today, for the next three days, the Public Authority for Civil Aviation announced.

PACA said in a statement online: " Cumulus clouds will continue to form for the next three days starting on Wednesday resulting in isolated rain and associated thundershowers at Al Hajar and neighboring states during the afternoon."

"The rainfall will be accompanied by hail, strong winds and the rise of dust," PACA added.

The weather forecast for today predicts partly cloudy to cloudy skies over the coastal areas of Dhofar governorate and neighboring mountains with the chance of intermittent drizzles and mainly clear skies over the rest of the Sultanate with a chance of low level clouds or fog patches along the coastal parts of the Arabian Sea late at night till early morning.

Temperature in the Governorate of Muscat is expected to reach 39 degrees celsius and in Salalah 27 degrees and the highest temperature expected today is 43 degrees in Al Buraimi while the lowest is 17 degrees in Shams Mount.
