Muscat: After the United Arab Emirates (UAE), passengers from Oman will soon have to pay an additional 35 Qatari riyals (OMR3.7) if they travel to Qatar or use the Hamad International Airport at Doha for transit.
According to the airport authorities, the Hamad International Airport will introduce a new passenger facility charge for tickets issued from Tuesday, for travels starting December 1.
The fee will automatically be added to an individual’s plane ticket price and will also apply to transit passengers, who fly into and out of Hamad International Airport if they are not changing the aircraft, according to travel agents.
Several other countries also charge exit taxes, including the UAE, Australia, Germany, China and the United Kingdom.
