Agricultural event in Salalah stresses importance of raising awareness among youth

Salalah— An agricultural event, organized by the Directorate General of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources in Dhofar Governorate, was held today at the Sultan Qaboos Youth Compound for Culture and Entertainment in Salalah.

The event marked the conclusion of its programmes and activities celebrating Omani Agriculture Day, aiming to raise awareness among youth and society and to entrench the value of working in this vital sector.

The ceremony included a visual presentation by the Directorate General of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources, which reviewed the journey of Omani Agriculture Day events and the programs and initiatives implemented in the schools of the Wilayat of Salalah.

This was followed by a visual presentation from OQ - the official sponsor of the event - offering an overview of the company's initiatives in the field of environmental sustainability and the promotion of agricultural practices.

At the conclusion of the event, Sheikh Mohammed Saif Al Busaidi, Wali of Salalah and patron of the ceremony, felicitated the winning students and schools in the accompanying competitions, in appreciation of their efforts and participation in the activities aimed at promoting agricultural awareness.
