Oman's telecom regulator publishes tariff guide for consumers

Muscat: To enhance customer experience, the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA) has released a handy guide to help customers choose from the right packages.
“The main objective of publishing this digest is to assist the consumers in comparing different offers and enable them to choose a tariff plan or service provider, which best suits their needs. We expect this initiative will enhance transparency of tariffs because many subscribers do not have access to the required information before subscribing to a data service as such information is usually published on the service provider’s websites,” Hilal Al Siyabi, Media and Events manager at TRA, said.
The rates published in the guide, however, do not cover promotional tariffs. “That is simply because promotional tariffs are short-term offers, which can change quickly,” he added.
Talking more about the guide, Al Siyabi said it will help people choose, based on their requirements. “If you use more data, then you can avail where you can get unlimited data.
Then if you want to make only phone calls you can choose from packages where no data plan exists.”
