Muscat: His Highness Sayyid Bilarab bin Haitham Al Said on Friday presided over the military music show "Oman and the World" organised by the Royal Opera House Muscat on the occasion of the National Day.
The three-day event, featuring Omani military bands and a number of international bands, is a continuation of the annual military music performances presented by the ROHM in the glorious month of November, with the participation of Omani military bands alongside a number of international bands, in celebration of this happy occasion.
Participating from the Omani side with musical bands are: the Royal Guard of Oman, the Royal Army of Oman, the Royal Air Force of Oman, the Royal Navy of Oman, the Royal Oman Police, in addition to the Royal Cavalry, the Royal Camel Corps, the Scout Band, and the Infantry Team of the Royal Army of Oman.
These groups provide an ideal opportunity to witness the high precision of military parade displays, and to hear bagpipe music, drums, wind instruments, and other selected performances.
In a demonstration of the close relations and openness that binds the Sultanate of Oman to the countries of the world, this year’s ceremony witnessed the participation of an elite group of musicians and artists from the friendly Kingdom of Belgium, to confirm the depth of civilizational and cultural communication with the Sultanate of Oman, and to enrich this ceremony with wonderful military displays and captivating heritage segments, presented in their traditional costumes that reflect the authenticity of their countries.
The audience in the main square of the Royal Opera House Muscat watched displays of artistic skills in exquisite formations to the tunes of military music, in addition to watching performances by percussion groups in a concert that included various heritage segments.
The show also included the participation of a group of the most skilled Omani musicians.
