Oman Across Ages Museum, Qatar Museums sign MoU

Doha: “Oman Across Ages Museum” on Tuesday signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with “Qatar Museums” with the aim of enhancing bilateral cooperation in the field of museums and the conservation of national historical heritage in Oman and Qatar.

The MoU provides for exchanging practical expertise in applying the highest standards of excellence, as well as ideas and initiatives related to cultural projects and events.

The MoU includes articles about organizing joint training courses on holding events and marketing, exhibitions, visitor services, reception protocols, volunteering activities, education, research and translation.

It deals with hosting joint events, exhibitions, conferences and symposiums, in addition to exchanging information about approved policies and solutions.

The MoU also covers the exchange of visits for specialists and experts, research and studies in the field of using modern technologies and developing multi-media.

The MoU was signed by Eng. Al Yaqdhan Abdullah Al Harthi, Director General of Oman Across Ages Museum, and Mohammed Saad Al Rumaihi, Chief Executive Officer of Qatar Museums.

Speaking at the event, Al Harthi underlined the importance of cultural cooperation between institutions in charge of museums.

He affirmed the two sides’ commitment to preserve, conserve and promote national heritage in a manner that realises tangible progress in the field of exchanging experiences and developing national competencies.

The MoU reflects a common desire to enhance bilateral relations and develop cooperation in the field of museums and the conservation of historical heritage. It also underscores shared understanding about the importance of exchanging knowledge and unifying efforts to introduce cultural heritage to future generations in advanced ways.
