Oman education: Half a million children start new school year

As the new academic year started on Sunday, 572,990 students joined classes in 1,103 government schools across the Sultanate. A number of schools organised induction programmes, in which books were issued to students.
Teachers, principals, directorates’ staff and parents expressed satisfaction about the events. As per the Ministry of Education records, there are 56,607 teachers and an estimated 11,612 administrative and technical staff in government schools this year.
