LONDON: Erling Haaland scored twice as Manchester City moved second in the Premier League with a 3-1 win at home to Bournemouth on Sunday.
Bournemouth travelled to Manchester second in the table, but was twice undone by a ball behind its high defense, for Haaland to run onto and score with ease.
The Norwegian opened the scoring after 17 minutes and put his side back in front in the 33rd minute, after Tyler Adams took advantage of a mistake from goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma, who made a dreadful mess of coming for a corner in the 25th minute.
Nico O'Reilly scored Manchester City's third goal on the hour to kill off any hopes of a Bournemouth fightback.
Also on Sunday, West Ham battled back to claim a 3-1 win at home to Newcastle United, who had taken the lead through Jacob Murphy four minutes into the match.
Lucas Paqueta leveled the score in the 35th minute, and West Ham was ahead on the stroke of halftime after Sven Botman deflected a cross into his own net.
Newcastle looked for an equalizing goal in the closing stages, but Tomas Soucek assured three points for West Ham from close range deep into injury time.
