Manah Development Forum showcases strategic projects, economic diversification initiatives

Manah: The Wilayat of Manah hosted the third edition of the "Manah Ascends with You" development forum, organised by Wali of Manah Office at the Oman Across Ages Museum on Monday. The event showcased the wilayat's most significant development projects and strategic future initiatives.

The forum serves as a platform to identify strategic priorities for the upcoming development phase while strengthening collaborative frameworks between government institutions, private sector entities, and local community stakeholders, thereby contributing to comprehensive and balanced regional development.

Sheikh Hilal bin Said Al Hajri, Governor of Al Dakhiliyah, emphasised that the "Manah Ascends with You" forum exemplifies the government's strategic commitment to governorate empowerment and balanced regional development. This approach is implemented through enhanced administrative decentralisation and the establishment of effective partnership models between government institutions, private enterprises, and local communities, directly supporting the implementation of "Oman Vision 2040" priorities – particularly the development of sustainable governorates and cities, which focuses on improving quality of life indicators, enhancing service delivery efficiency, and increasing investment attractiveness across governorates.

The Governor noted that Wilayat of Manah has achieved significant progress through the implementation of several vital projects during the current year, including an internal road network project valued at over OMR500,000, the public park development initiative, a modern irrigation system installation at the wilayat's main entrance, and the commercial district development project designed to stimulate economic and commercial activity throughout the wilayat.

He added that the Governorate of Al Dakhiliyah is coordinating with the Ministries of Economy and Finance to execute the Wilayat of Manah entrance development project within the comprehensive framework of developmental initiatives. He confirmed that the commercial area redevelopment project will be formally commissioned in the coming period, significantly enhancing service infrastructure, improving urban environmental quality, and strengthening economic vitality throughout the wilayat.

Dr. Aflah bin Said Al Hadhrami, Managing Director of Petroleum Development Oman (PDO), highlighted the critical importance of establishing optimal work environments that enable leadership development and capability enhancement. He affirmed the demonstrated capacity of Omani youth for meaningful contribution and productivity, noting their potential to drive organisational success through the strategic assignment of transformation programs to qualified Omani engineers. This approach focuses on key performance pillars including productivity enhancement, cost optimisation, health safety security environment (HSSE) standards, governance frameworks, and corporate value creation.

The forum agenda featured multiple technical presentations from government and private sector representatives. The Directorate General of Education in Al Dakhiliyah Governorate detailed its comprehensive efforts in educational service development and digital transformation implementation across the wilayat's school network. The Department of Endowments and Religious Affairs presented its strategic role in mosque maintenance, endowment development, and the promotion of religious values within society.

Wadi Noor Solar Power Company presented its "Manah 1 Solar Power Station" project alongside its broader sustainability and clean energy initiatives. Athar Investment Company delivered a comprehensive overview of the "Harat Al Bilad or Al Bilad Quarter" development and operation project, which will generate over 60 direct employment positions and 55 indirect opportunities, supplemented by 16 subsidiary investment ventures designed to stimulate economic diversification and tourism development throughout the wilayat.

Al Dakhiliyah Municipality presented a detailed working paper outlining its development projects in the Wilayat of Manah, encompassing internal road networks, public lighting systems, and recreational park facilities. Nama Water Services showcased its ongoing infrastructure projects within the wilayat, highlighting the water network construction initiative currently at 98% completion with an investment of OMR25 million, and the treated water transmission pipeline from the Wilayat of Nizwa to Manah valued at OMR9 million.

The Manah Charity team presented its comprehensive community development portfolio across family and youth empowerment sectors, educational and healthcare services, and social housing programmes. The presentation also featured the endowment investment project, which aims to establish financial sustainability for community-led initiatives throughout the wilayat.
