Muscat: The Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning holds a meeting today in Muscat with the governors to present action plans, address requirements, and foster direct communication to discuss strategic issues related to the housing and urban planning sectors across Oman's various governorates.
The meeting covered several key topics, including digital transformation, the addressing system, structural masterplans, and the Omani building code guide. It focused on efforts to develop urban planning systems and enhance the efficiency of services provided to citizens.
The meeting also included discussion sessions on new real estate laws and regulations, most notably the Real Estate Regulation Law and the Real Estate Registry Law. These new regulations are seen as a step toward standardizing the legislative framework, promoting transparency, and protecting the rights of those involved in the real estate market.
Furthermore, the meeting discussed updates on housing projects, "Sorouh" masterplans, and the residential land distribution plan, as well as illegal land holdings and the mechanisms for dealing with them. This supports the principle of institutional partnership and contributes to achieving family stability and balanced development among the governorates.
