Muscat : The Royal Oman Police is participating in the International Technology Exhibition (COMEX 2025) at the Oman Convention and Exhibition Centre, continuing its efforts to promote digital transformation and develop its services in line with the goals of Oman Vision 2040.
Colonel Abdullah bin Saeed Al Kalbani, Director General of Information Technology, said: “The Royal Oman Police attaches great importance to adopting innovative digital solutions and developing the technical infrastructure. This participation is part of the Royal Oman Police’s strategy to keep pace with technological developments and provide modern services that contribute to enhancing the efficiency of police performance and meeting the needs of society.”
The police pavilion will showcase the latest technological initiatives, including the use of digital identity as an alternative to passports at electronic travel portals and a secure verification method for banking transactions, enhancing the speed and security of procedures.
The Royal Oman Police also launched civil e-services via the police app. These services include displaying passports and birth certificates, updating phone numbers for individuals and children under the age of eighteen, providing investor services, and displaying data for workers sponsored by individuals, allowing beneficiaries quick access to these documents and data from their smartphones.
In the traffic sector, the police launched new services, such as issuing proof of license certificates electronically and printing new driving licenses via self-service machines, in addition to an appointment booking service and a driving license testing site.
The Royal Oman Police also launched an appointment booking service via the app to visit inmates or book a video call with them at some detention centers in various governorates, as a first stage, without the need to visit the General Directorate of Prisons.
