More than 11,000 fly to Turkey by SalamAir

Muscat: More than 11,500 passengers have used SalamAir's services to Trabzon and Istanbul since its launch in July this year, the airline announced on Wednesday.

Captain Mohammad Ahmed, CEO of the low cost carrier said, "The flight occupancy rate has so far reached 99 per cent for both routes." "It is a geat reception and welcome from the Omani citizens and residents in the Sultanate," he said.

The company started three flights a week to Trabzon and two flights to Istanbul. However, as a result of the large demand for travel to the Turkish city of Trabzon, the company has added another flight to the popular destination on the Black Sea coast of northeastern Turkey.

"The company has recently added three new aircraft to bring the total number of company aircraft to six. The sixth plane was received in June to meet the increasing demand and offer new destinations such as Trabzon and Istanbul," Captain Ahmed said.
