​Muscat Municipality participates at 2019 World Cities Summit

Muscat: A delegation from Muscat Municipality headed by the organisation’s chairman took part at the 2019 World Cities Summit, which was held in Medellin, Colombia.

With the theme of this year’s summit being ‘livable and sustainable cities: building a high-trust city’, Muscat Municipality was represented Mohsin Ash Sheikh, who was accompanied by Khalifa As Siyabi and Dr Hanan Al Jabriyya.

As part of this experience, Dr Hanan, who serves as acting director of the Strategic Planning Department, wrote the phrase ‘friendship and peace – Muscat, Oman’ in Arabic as a contribution from Muscat Municipality to commemorate this experience.

Also part of the event was the annual World Cities Summit Mayors Forum. This is an exclusive, by-invitation-only global platform for mayors and city leaders to discuss pressing urban challenges and share the best practices. The sessions will include case study presentations by mayors and sharing by senior representatives of international organisations and industry players.
