Tropical storm approaching Louisiana strengthens into hurricane

Louisiana: Storm Barry, which is approaching the coast of Louisiana in the United States of America, has strengthened into a hurricane this evening.
Ken Graham, Director of the National Hurricane Centre, has confirmed that the storm has reached wind speeds of 125km/h.
"We have a hurricane, that is the latest update that we have," Graham said.
Graham added that at this point, "Not much has changed in terms of the impact", of Hurricane Barry, saying that South East Louisiana can expect large amounts of rain from the hurricane, as well as increased windspeed and damages due to spins of wind that are not within the centre of the hurricane itself.
The National Hurricane Centre said in a statement, "Life-threatening, significant flash flooding and river flooding will become increasingly likely later today and tonight as Barry moves inland."
