Dhaka: President Mohammed Shahabuddin of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh on Thursday received credentials of Jameel Haji Al Balushi as Ambassador of the Sultanate of Oman to the People’s Republic of Bangladesh, in the Presidential palace in Dhaka.
During the meeting, the Ambassador conveyed greetings of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik to the President, along with His Majesty’s wishes of good health and happiness. His Majesty also wished the people of Bangladesh further progress and prosperity.
On his turn, the President of Bangladesh asked the ambassador to convey his sincere greetings and best wishes to His Majesty the Sultan, wishing the Omani people further prosperity and growth.
President Mohammed Shahabuddin expressed his delight at the coincidence of this occasion with the 50th anniversary of establishing diplomatic relations between Oman and Bangladesh. He underscored the depth of bilateral relations and valued Oman’s positive role under the leadership of His Majesty in strengthening international peace and security. He also lauded Oman’s role in supporting regional and global stability and development efforts.
Furthermore, the Ambassador affirmed Oman’s commitment to further strengthening friendship and cooperation with Bangladesh. He also underscored the importance of advancing bilateral partnerships across various fields, particularly in economic sectors such as energy, petroleum derivatives, minerals and pharmaceutical industries.
The ambassador highlighted the potential for expanding promising investment horizons in special economic zones between the two countries.
