Muscat: The Environment Authority has announced a judicial ruling against a citizen convicted of illegally hunting the Arabian Ibex, a protected species native to the region.
Following the trial, the Ibri Court of Appeal sentenced the individual to imprisonment, imposed a financial penalty, and mandated that he cover all legal expenses incurred during the case.
The Environment Authority issued a public call urging citizens and residents to respect and preserve Oman’s natural heritage. They emphasised that disturbing wildlife or damaging the environment can result in legal accountability.
