MUSCAT: Saraya Bandar Jissah, Oman's $600-million mixed-used development, is set to house its first residents early 2017, according to a post by Oman Tourism on its official facebook page.
Being developed by Omran, the tourism development and investment arm of Oman, the project spans 2.2-sq-km and will offer residential units, recreational facilities and two beachfront luxury hotels - a resort hotel and a boutique hotel. The Jumeirah Group will run the five-star hotels.
Accompanied by experts from the Ministry of Tourism, Maitha Saif Al Mahrouqi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Tourism, reviewed the work at the Saraya Bandar Jissah project.
She took a tour of the entire project to review the latest developments, met the project management team and discussed the launch of the first phase.
The Saraya Bandar Jissah project, a joint venture between Omran and Saraya Oman, has scooped numerous international awards for its design, and received a major vote of confidence back in September when Bank Muscat and Bank Dhofar agreed to fund its development with OMR106 million.
In March, Lee O’Donoghue, vice president, Marketing and Sales, Saraya Bandar Jissah, had said that the project will be 'Coming Soon'.
“We’re moving; yes oil prices are down, but it has not stopped us. We are 100 per cent moving forward. People will be living here early next year,” the official had said.
The official had also added that by September, they will be ready to show big groups around the site, hosting a variety of events and really open the site up to people to explore.
The first phase of the project is set to launch 224 units over three residential areas as well as two five-star hotels with accompanying entertainment facilities, villas, and apartment complexes.
The first hotel will have 206 guest rooms as well as conference hall overviewing the beach front, along with VIP chalet and a dive centre.
The second hotel will house 112 chalets over three unique authentic experiences.
The lower levels will highlight the unique marine experience of the Sultanate, while the second level will highlight the agricultural oasis that the Sultanate is famed for.
The top level will highlight the mountainous landscape and culture, thus blending all the unique lifestyles of Oman.
The project will also have three housing sections and 33 villas located in the Namir Island which is the middle island. Each villa hosts its own private swimming pool.
The three bedroom villas will be built on 427 square metres of space while four bedroom villas will be built on 498 square metres of space.
The second housing section will host 169 villas and apartments- two bedroom apartments of 200 square metres and three bedroom apartments of 351 square metres overviewing the gardens and the ocean.
The third housing section will host 22 villas with panoramic views of the ocean and the mountains. Each housing unit hosts a spacious 750 square metres of prime real estate.
