Muscat: A number of expat fishermen were arrested for operating without a licence in a joint campaign carried out by the Royal Oman Police, the Ministry of Manpower, and the Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries.

In an online statement, the Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries said: "The ministry, represented by the fish control team in Muscat Governorate, managed to seize a fishing boat with a number of expat workers on board for fishing illegally.

“Legal procedures against the accused were taken in coordination and co-operation of the Coast Guard and the Ministry of Manpower,” the statement added.
