Muscat: The Sultanate of Oman will host the Omani-Saudi Knowledge Dialogue Forum on Sunday, organised by the Ministry of Higher Education, Research, and Innovation in cooperation with the Council of University Affairs of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The two-day event aims to strengthen bilateral cooperation in higher education and scientific research.
Dr. Maryam Bilarab Al Nabhani, Director General of Private Universities and Colleges at the Ministry of Higher Education, Research, and Innovation, emphasised that the forum serves as a strategic platform to enhance knowledge cooperation and expertise exchange between the two countries.
She highlighted the forum’s pivotal role in fostering partnerships between higher education institutions in Oman and their counterparts in Saudi Arabia, promoting joint research programs, researcher exchanges, and academic collaboration. Additionally, the forum seeks to encourage the establishment of research and development centers, boost joint investments in education, research, and innovation, and strengthen communication channels between intellectual, educational, and research institutions. These efforts align with the objectives of Oman Vision 2040 and Saudi Vision 2030.
Dr. Al Nabhani added that the event will bring together academics, researchers, and decision-makers from both countries to exchange insights, ideas, and expertise while exploring ways to enhance knowledge partnerships in various priority national fields.
The forum will feature several dialogue sessions focusing on challenges and opportunities in building pioneering universities in the Gulf region, the role of the Fourth and Fifth Industrial Revolutions in supporting education, smart learning, and digital campuses, as well as scientific research and innovation collaboration. The event will see participation from nearly 70 Saudi universities, several research centers, and all public and private higher education institutions in Oman.
