MUSCAT: A contingent of talented young golfers will represent Oman at the 2025 Pan Arab Junior and Ladies Golf Championship, to be held from May 7 to 10 in Cairo, Egypt.
The prestigious event, hosted by the Arab Golf Federation in collaboration with the Egyptian Golf Federation, will be staged across two of Cairo’s premier courses – Madinaty Golf Club and Katameya Dunes Golf Club.
Oman will join 12 other nations including Bahrain, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Libya, Morocco, Palestine, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Tunisia, the United Arab Emirates, and hosts Egypt – a strong lineup that reflects the growing competitiveness and appeal of golf in the Arab region.
The Oman Golf Association has fielded a promising squad across four categories. The ladies team comprises Huwaida Al Barwani, Sheikha Al Ghaithi, Wafa Al Hadhrami while the U16 girls team include Miraeri Sampat and Yasmin Al Kathiri. The boys U18 squad is represented by Pransh Jagwani while the boys’ U13 team consists of Yusuf Al Rumhi and Taimur Al Busaidi.
The Omani delegation will be accompanied by Ahmed Al Jhdhamy and Nikhil Sampat, both board members of the Oman Golf Association.
In conjunction with the championship, a Golf Festival will be held at Madinaty Golf Club to mark the 50th anniversary of the Arab Golf Federation. The festival aims to increase public interest in the sport through a blend of entertainment and education, including:
