HM, Russian President grace signing of agreement, protocol, 9 MoUs
Moscow: His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik and President Vladimir Putin of the Russian Federation today graced the signing of an agreement, a protocol, and 9 memoranda of understanding at the Kremlin Palace in Moscow, during His Majesty's state-visit to the Russian Federation.
The pacts covered several areas, including a mutual visa waiver agreement, an economic and technical cooperation protocol— a proposal of establishing a joint economic committee between the governments of Oman and the Russian Federation—and MoUs on climate change and low-carbon development, transport and transit, and cooperation in combating money laundering and terrorist financing between Oman’s National Centre for Financial Information and Russia’s Federal Financial Monitoring Service.
Additional MoUs were signed on fisheries cooperation between Oman’s Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources and Russia’s Federal Agency for Fisheries; news and information exchange between Oman’s Ministry of Information (represented byOman News Agency) and Rossiya Segodnya media group; diplomatic cooperation between the Diplomatic Academy of Oman and the Diplomatic Academy of Russia; media cooperation between the Ministry of Information and Russia Today TV; partnership between Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Russia’s Roscongress Foundation; and administrative collaboration between the Royal Academy of Management and the Russian Presidential Academy of National Economy and Public Administration.
The pacts were signed on behalf of the Omani government by Sayyid Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi, Foreign Minister; Qais bin Mohammed Al Yousef, Minister of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion; Salim bin Hamood Al Tuwaya, Oman’s Ambassador to Russia; and Colonel Abdulrahman bin Amer Al Kiyoumi, CEO of the National Centre for Financial Information.
Meanwhile, they were signed on behalf of the Russian government by Sergey Lavrov, Foreign Minister; Maxim Reshetnikov, Minister of Economic Development; Roman Vladimirovich Starovoit, Minister of Transport; and several other Russian officials.
