Egypt welcomes Oman's hosting of Iran-US talks

Muscat: The Arab Republic of Egypt welcomed Oman's hosting of the talks between the Islamic Republic of Iran and the United States of America.

Egypt commended the Sultanate of Oman's constructive, vital, and ongoing role in supporting political and peaceful solutions in light of the grave challenges facing the region and in working to reduce political tensions.

In its statement, the Arab Republic of Egypt affirmed its full support for Oman's sincere efforts and all efforts aimed at reaching political solutions through dialogue. This approach has long been advocated by Egypt, based on its full conviction that there are no military solutions to the crises raging in the region and that the policy of escalation and tension only exacerbates the situation.

The Arab Republic of Egypt appreciated the cooperative approach demonstrated by the American and Iranian sides to reach a political settlement by promoting dialogue and negotiation, thus allowing solutions to be reached that contribute to reducing tensions in the region.

The statement said Egypt looks forward to the two parties reaching an agreement that addresses their concerns and ensures security and stability for the sisterly neighboring countries in the Arabian Gulf region. It hopes that these negotiations will usher in a new phase that will contribute to achieving calm and reducing tensions in the region.
