Ministry opens registration for London youth science forum

Muscat: The Ministry of Higher Education, Research and Innovation announced the start of registration to the 66th edition of London International Youth Science Forum “LIYSF 2025”.

The Ministry said that interested youth may register to the forum via the link (https://orp.trc.gov.om/awards/liysf/sub) and that registration will continue until 6 May.

The forum will be held from 23 July to 6 August 2025 in the United Kingdom. The idea of the annual event is to attract science-minded young people from around the world and to explore the cultures and experiences of different countries.

The forum aims to raise the profile of young student researchers and innovators, assisting them through effective international participation in their projects, providing them with new knowledge and skills in science and its applications, and communicating directly with scientists and experts at the London International Young Scientists Forum.

The Ministry stated that when registering to participate in the forum, the applicant must be between 19 and 23 years old, have an interest and passion in scientific fields, be enrolled in university studies in one of the fields of science, technology, engineering and mathematics, be active in research projects or scientific competitions, have the ability to communicate socially and represent the Sultanate of Oman in international forums, and have not previously received support from the Ministry in any competition during the period from 2022 to 2025, in addition to being fluent in spoken and written English.

The ministry stated that after the registration period has ended, applications will be sorted by a specialised committee to select those who meet the criteria.

The students will then be eligible for a personal interview with the evaluation committee, which will announce the names of the students who have qualified to participate. -ONA
