French fries made by Omani youth goes global

Muscat: Omani youth are currently seeking to transform their hobbies and daily practices into commercial ventures by innovating projects that will become popular with consumers and promoting them commercially, enabling them to compete in regional and global markets.

Among these projects is “Seven Fries,” the first Omani brand specialising in fresh French fries. Owned by Issa bin Saleh Al Aghbari, the brand was launched in the Wilayat of Seeb in Muscat Governorate in 2021.

He explained that in less than two years, it has opened three branches in Muscat and Dhofar Governorates.

He said that his brand, “Seven Fries,” was selected from among more than 300 participating Omani brands in the franchise programme offered by the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and he was able to sign an agreement with the Chamber to develop the brand.

He pointed out that in 2024, he was able to sign the first commercial franchise contract in the Wilayat of Al Amerat in the Governorate of Muscat.

This year, a commercial franchise contract was signed in the Wilayat of Ibri in the Governorate of Al Dhahirah. Globally, commercial franchise contracts were signed for the brand in Erbil in the Kurdistan Region, in Iraq, and another in Islamabad in the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, in addition to signing an exclusive contract in India.

He added that the company is seeking to open 300 branches in India in the coming period, as it is one of the largest global markets. He explained that there are several requests to sign franchise agreements in global markets, particularly in the US.
