Muscat: Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI) today hosted the 59th meeting of the GCC Federation of Chambers' Executive Leaderships Committee.
Held in Muscat, the meeting discussed digital initiatives and the annual report of the final accounts of the Federation’s Secretariat General for the year 2024.
The meeting was chaired by Zakaria Abdullah Al Saadi, CEO of the OCCI, and attended by an elite group of executive leaders of GCC chambers of commerce.
The meeting reviewed concepts of the new visual identity of the GCC Federation of Chambers and its digital platforms. The deliberations reflect member states’ ongoing pursuit of development and innovation aimed to better serve the GCC states’ common economic interests.
The meeting discussed a comparative revenue-expenditure report filed by the GCC Federation of Chambers’s Secretariat General.
The meeting also touched on the role of GCC chambers in achieving integration among GCC economies, measures to upgrade GCC chambers’ capabilities to serve the GCC economy and novel means of activating the GCC business community.
On the sidelines of the meeting, members of the GCC Executive Leaderships Committee visited the "Invest Oman Lounge" where they learned about the services rendered to investors, as well as the investment available in the Sultanate of Oman.
The GCC team also visited Khazaen Economic City in the Wilayat of Barka in the South Al Batinah Governorate to learn about the incentives that the city provides for investors, including tax exemptions and foreign ownership of businesses in Oman.
