Muscat: The Government Communication Centre on Monday held the 27th meeting themed “Guidelines and Regulatory Frameworks for Government Communication Practices”.
The meeting was attended by government units’ communication and media officials.
The Centre gave a presentation about the guidelines and regulatory frameworks that the centre recently used to achieve organised and effective government communication.
The meeting focused on the importance of adopting standard government communication plans that enhance transparency and bolster community confidence in government performance.
The presentation also included a ‘reference document’ on preparing communication plans.
The document outlined steps for preparing and implementing communication plans for government institutions.
The meeting also included panel discussion about major challenges facing government institutions in the fields of communication and media.
The aim was to develop the system of government communication in a manner that keeps pace with rapid developments in the media and communication sector.
