Muscat: Oman Air confirmed in an official statement yesterday that flight WY232 from Hyderabad to Muscat on January 9, 2025, was grounded due to a technical issue encountered during taxiing. The aircraft returned to the bay for inspection, resulting in a delay of nearly three hours before passengers were disembarked and returned to the terminal.
Initial attempts by maintenance teams to resolve the issue on-site were unsuccessful. Ground power limitations subsequently affected the cabin's air conditioning, prompting the swift disembarkation of passengers. The entire process took approximately 2 hours and 45 minutes, during which refreshments were provided to passengers both on board and at the terminal.
Due to the complexity of the technical problem, a specialized maintenance team was dispatched from Muscat on the next available flight. In the interim, Oman Air offered hotel accommodations to travelers who wished to remain in Hyderabad, while other passengers chose to return home. Standard immigration procedures were followed for those departing the airport.
