Muscat: Sheikh Khalifa Ali Al Harthy, Undersecretary of the Foreign Ministry for Political Affairs met here Zhang Lu, President of the International Zheng He Society and her accompanying delegation, during their current visit to the Sultanate of Oman.
The two sides touched on the historical dimensions of the Chinese traveller Zheng He's visit to Oman 600 years ago.
The meeting stressed the importance of building on historical ties by strengthening the deep-rooted friendship of the Sultanate of Oman with Singapore (headquarters of the society ) and China (homeland of the navigator).
The meeting was attended by Ambassador Sheikh Abdulaziz Mohammed Al Hosni, Head of the Asia and Pacific Department at the Foreign Ministry.
