Muscat:The Ministry of Heritage and Tourism continues to enhance its presence in global markets in 2025 with a promotional plan to participate in major international tourism exhibitions and organize mobile workshops in target markets.
These efforts aim to promote Oman as a distinguished tourist destination, highlighting its cultural and heritage attractions, and showcasing the tourism packages and offers provided by companies in the tourism sector.
Haitham bin Mohammed Al Ghassani, Director General of Tourism Promotion at the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism, emphasized that the ministry places great importance on participating in international tourism exhibitions as a vital platform to strengthen Oman's presence on the global stage.
In a statement to the Oman News Agency, he explained that the ITB Berlin, one of the world's largest travel and tourism exhibitions, will be the next stop for the ministry following its notable success at the International Tourism Exhibition in Madrid.
He noted that participating in these exhibitions presents a significant opportunity to introduce the latest developments in Oman's tourism sector and open channels of communication with major global tourism companies and institutions to explore avenues for cooperation. He added that these participations help attract more tourists by promoting Oman's diverse tourism attractions and showcasing the offers and programs provided by Omani companies.
The ministry aims to build a broader network of relationships with international tourism institutions through these exhibitions, participating in conferences and seminars held on the sidelines of these events to keep up with the latest trends in the global tourism sector.
Such participations provide a promotional and economic platform for Omani companies, especially small and medium enterprises (SMEs), allowing them to showcase their services and products within Oman's pavilion at these events, thereby supporting the tourism sector in general.
The Director General of Tourism Promotion explained that the ministry will announce new promotional programs during these exhibitions, in collaboration with strategic partners, to enhance Oman's marketing efforts and attract more investments in the sector.
Oman will participate in 15 international tourism exhibitions in 2025, including major tourism exhibitions in Europe, Asia, and the United States. Among the key exhibitions are FITUR in Spain, ITB in Germany, MITT in Russia, ATM in the United Arab Emirates, ITB Asia in Singapore, and WTM in the United Kingdom. Additionally, Oman will participate in specialized global exhibitions such as IMEX in Germany, focusing on incentive travel and conferences, and Sea Trade in the United States, specializing in marine tourism.
Alongside participating in these exhibitions, the ministry will organize a series of mobile promotional workshops in targeted markets in the GCC countries, East Asia, and European countries.
These workshops aim to strengthen relationships with local and international partners in the tourism sector, explore cooperation opportunities, and sign strategic partnerships. The workshops will feature visual presentations about Oman's diverse tourism attractions and meetings between Omani tourism institutions and major tourism companies in these markets to enhance collaboration and explore contracting opportunities with specialized tourism companies.
These participations and promotional activities align with the ministry's strategy to achieve the goals of Oman Vision 2040, which focuses on diversifying the national economy and enhancing the tourism sector as a key economic pillar, thereby strengthening Oman's position on the global tourism map.
