Muscat: Sayyid Badr Hamad Al Busaidi, Foreign Minister received at the general diwan of the ministry yesterday Dr. Badr Abdel Aati, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Immigration in the Arab Republic of Egypt.
The meeting reviewed the deep-rooted and fraternal relations binding the Sultanate of Oman and the Arab Republic of Egypt. The two sides stressed the common desire to enhance the bilateral cooperation in various political, economic and cultural fields to serve the joint interests.
The two ministers exchanged views on a set of regional and international issues of common concern.
They also discussed the current regional situation and the escalating challenges, with a focus on developments of the Palestinian issue and the ceasefire endeavours in the Gaza Strip.
The two sides also underlined the importance of enhancing dialogue as a means to achieve stability and back international efforts aimed at finding peaceful and sustainable solutions to conflicts, in a way that ensures security and development for the peoples of the region, within the context of commitment to the principles of international law and respect for the sovereignty of states.
The meeting was attended by Sheikh Khalifa Ali Al Harthy, Undersecretary of the Foreign Ministry for Political Affairs, Khalid Mohammed Abdul Halim Radi, Ambassador of the Arab Republic of Egypt to the Sultanate of Oman and a number of officials from both sides.
