Muscat: Muscat Nights welcomed over a quarter of a million visitors in its first week after it was opened for all from December 23, 2024. “More than a quarter of a million visitors enjoyed the events in its seven locations,” the officials said.
The organisers of Muscat Nights, Muscat Municipality, this year have rightly identified prominent locations to ensure accessibility for residents and visitors throughout the capital.
These events are spread out across Amerat Park, Al Naseem Public Park, Oman Automobile Association, Oman Convention and Exhibition Centre (OCEC), Al Hail Beach and Wadi al Khoud, besides Al Qurum Natural Park, many cultural centres and shopping malls.
“Each location offers its own unique experience, ensuring that there’s something for everyone,” a statement from Muscat Municipality added.
“The Muscat Nights, in many ways, is a microcosm of what makes Oman such a unique destination in the region. While there is plenty of culture and an opportunity to savour the traditions of the country, there are also several events that have been put up by the organisers to further modernise the event this time,” Indian expat, Madhu said.
“For families visiting the Muscat Nights this year, there are several events which are bound to stimulate all the senses. Besides, some of the region’s finest and most exotic goods are being sold by merchants. Somehow, these are close to evoking memories of great bazaars of history, that are intrinsic to the way of life in Oman,” said Murugeshan, an Indian expat running his own business.
“From Cheeses and saffron, the finest dates, incense from the Omani heartland, the finest dried fruits and olive oil, silks and spices from the Indian subcontinent ... all of these fine goods will surely be attractive for the visitors,” he further said.
Besides on offer at the Muscat Nights are a wide array of fine clothes, handbags, perfumes and so much more on offer this year, and when the little ones do get bored of holding mummy and daddy’s hands as they inquisitively move from stall to stall, there is plenty for them to check out beyond the bazaar.
Mirshad, an Indian from the state of Kerala said, “From games that test mental endurance and physical prowess to roller-coaster rides, the Muscat Nights has a plethora of opportunities for everyone to forget their troubles for a while, and take them back to a time when things were far simpler.”
During this year’s Muscat Nights, visitors will find themselves immersed in a range of exciting attractions, featuring some of the most beloved characters in entertainment. Step into vibrant worlds filled with Looney Tunes, Scooby-Doo, Batman, the Justice League, and Tom and Jerry.
These iconic characters will come to life in a way never seen before, making it a one-of-a-kind celebration that brings together your favourite childhood characters under one roof. The festival’s major highlights include the Flower Festival, Food Festival, Global Village, and stunning Drone Shows, as well as awe-inspiring Laser and Light Shows. Whether you’re enjoying the pleasant weather, indulging in delicious cuisine, or watching a mesmerising light display, there will be no shortage of activities to keep you entertained.
The festival will also feature a host of engaging activities across its various venues. At Qurum National Park, visitors can experience the Al Qurum Carnival, equestrian championships, and theatrical performances, while Al Amerat Public Park will host a hybrid show, Heritage Village, amusement rides, and exciting air and acrobatics games.
The Children’s Carnival at Al Amerat will also be a highlight for young festival-goers.
