Muscat: Oman National Commission for Education, Culture and Sciences on Wednesday held its first meeting, chaired by Dr. Madiha Ahmed Al Shaibani, Minister of Education, Chairperson of the Commission.
The meeting discussed ways of providing international organisations with examples about Oman’s efforts in the fields of education, culture and science. It reviewed procedures for Oman’s participation in global conferences related to education, culture and science.
During the meeting, the members of the Commission’s General Assembly were briefed about the objectives and activities of international organisations.
The meeting discussed national bodies’ needs for activities and services of international organisations. It looked into the most appropriate ways to benefit from the programmes provided by those organisations, notably within the context of Oman Vision 2040.
The meeting was attended by HH Sayyida Dr. Muna Fahd Al Said, Assistant Vice Chancellor for International Cooperation at Sultan Qaboos University, Dr. Abdullah Khamis Ambusaidi, Undersecretary for Education (Deputy Chairman of the Commission) and representatives of national bodies and institutions related to the activities of international organisations (like the UNESCO, the ISESCO and ALECSO).
