Muscat: The Royal Army of Oman (RAO) today celebrated the opening of "Al Hashman Camp" of the Border Guards Brigade.
The ceremony was held under the auspices of Maj.Gen Mattar Salim Al Balushi, Commander of the Royal Army of Oman (RAO).
The camp’s opening was part of modernization plans adopted by the Sultan's Armed Forces (SAF) and other departments of the Ministry of Defence. It was a step forward in providing the requirements of sustainability aimed to boost the national roles and tasks undertaken by the RAO and its formations.
After unveiling the camp’s memorial plaque, the RAO Commander and the attendees listened to a briefing about the roles, tasks and national duties of the Border Guard Brigade, which operates in collaboration with other brigades, formations and units of the Royal Army of Oman.
Then, the RAO Commander toured the camp’s facilities and listened to a briefing about its advanced equipment and supplies that fit with the duties assigned to it.
The opening of “Al Hashman Camp” affirms the great attention accorded to the SAF by His Majesty the Supreme Commander and his keenness to upgrade the SAF in a manner that enables them to perform their missions in protecting the nation’s gains and accomplishments, ensuring its security and stability and lending support to development action in the country.
