Muscat: The MSX index closed at 4,577.64 points, up by 0.09% from previous close. The Sharia Index ended up by 0.93% at 425.66 points. Majan Glass, up 50.00%, was the top gainer while, Sharqiyah Desalination, down 7.41%, was the top loser. Shares of OQEP were the most active in terms of number of shares traded as well as in terms of turnover.
A total number of 750 trades were executed during the day’s trading session, generating turnover of OMR3.45 million, with more than 18.9 million shares changing hands. Out of 45 traded securities, 12 advanced, 17 declined, and 16 remained unchanged. At the session close, foreign investors were net sellers for OMR242,000 while GCC & Arab investors were net buyers for OMR197,000, followed by domestic investors for OMR45,000 worth of shares.
Financial Index closed at 7,677.14 points, down 0.14%. Prices of Al Madina Investments, Al Madina Takaful, OMINVEST were up by 6.00%, 1.24%, 0.29% respectively. Prices of United Finance, Bank Nizwa, Oman Arab Bank were down by 1.72%, 1.03%, 0.69% respectively.
Industrial Index closed at 5,309.57 points, up 0.36%. Prices of Majan Glass, Al Maha Ceramics, Oman Cables Industry, Voltamp Energy were up by 50.00%, 9.38%, 1.89%, 1.28% respectively. Prices of Raysut Cement, A’Saffa Foods, Galfar Engineering, Oman Cement were down by 2.73%, 2.09%, 1.06%, 0.79% respectively.
Services Index was up by 0.01% before closing at 1,737.81 points. Prices of SMN Power Holding, Muscat Desalination, Oman Telecom, Renaissance Services were up by 3.82%, 3.03%, 1.19%, 0.26% respectively.
Prices of Sharqiyah Desalination, Al Batinah Power, Oman National Engineering, Al Suwadi Power, National Gas were down by 7.41%, 2.99%, 1.68%, 1.49%, 1.24% respectively.
