Muscat: The value of total fish landed in the Sultanate of Oman by the end of July 2024 reached RO 276,614,000, comprising an increase by 6.2% compared to the corresponding period in 2023 which stood at RO 260,573,000, according to the data issued by the National Centre for Statistics and Information (NCSI).
Artisanal fishing recorded a rise by 15% by the end of July 2024 to reach 371,934 tonnes compared to 323,297 tonnes during the corresponding period in 2023.
Meanwhile, the quantity of fish landed through commercial fishing reached 32,976 tonnes, while the quantity of fish landed through coastal fishing reached 4,629 tonnes.
